James Adkins age 64 of Bulls Gap TN, formerly of Shelby Gap,Ky passed away Monday August 8,2011 at his residence. James was born January 21,1947 to his parents the late Freeman and Zelbia Adkins. James was the husband of Shirley Oakes Adkins, was a self employed Truck Driver, a Disabled Veteran having served in the US Army during the Vietnam Conflict and was of the Old Reg Baptist Faith. Along with his parents James was preceded in death by one son, Tim Church and one daughter Kimberly Clark. Along with his wife James is survived by two daughters Heather McPeek and Crystal Church, three sons Chad Adkins, Steven Church and Doug Church. One brother Tony Adkins, six sisters Nina Heider, Freeda Gay Epling, Ina Huber, Peggy Sue Williams, Berneda Neel, and Joyce Adkins, fourteen grandchildren and a host of loving family and friends who love him and will miss him dearly. Visitation will be at the Lucas and Son Funeral Home Wednesday 8-10-2011 6 pm Funeral will be at the Lucas and Son Funeral Home Thursday 8-11-2011 12 noon. Burial will be at the Rob Ratliff Cemetery at Elkhorn Creek Ky.
